Malcolm R. Hester, born August 30, 1956, in Amarillo, TX, died May 9, 2002, in San Antonio.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera Gean Hester.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Hester; father, Walter A. Hester of Amarillo, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Diane Hester of Olympia, WA; nieces Deidra, Desirae and Sonya; and nephews Jaime, Chris Aaron, Clinton and Chad among many other family members.

Malcolm was a skillful leader and gifted landscape architect.  He earned a BLA from Texas Tech University and a Masters of Landscape Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.

Malcolb married Alice Althaus on September 2, 1978.

Most recently he served on the Board of Trustees for The Center for Health Care Services and on the Castle Hills City Council. He will be missed by many, many people whose lives he touched.
