Johnie “Tommy” Thomas Pugh, 69, passed away on April 26, 2025. Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday May 1, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.
Tommy was born on October 17, 1955 in Amarillo, TX to Johnie and Syble Pugh. He attended and graduated from Amarillo High School. Tommy married the love of his life, Beverly. Together they shared 32 years before her passing. He was a man of very few words, but always there for you when you needed him the most. Tommy loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a trophy fisherman, and was a member of The Mini-boat Bass Club for over 20 years, he holds many awards and trophies. There were many times that you could not get him off that lake. Tommy loved his cars, he would baby them once he got one. He would take it to the car wash every day to make sure his beloved car was nice and clean. Tommy was a hardworking, respected businessman. He owned and operated Amarillo Hydraulic for over 40 years before he retired. Tommy adored his grandchildren and his sweet great-grandbaby, Merle. Tommy will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife Beverly.
Survivors include his daughter, Shannon Holmes and husband Russell of Amarillo; his son, Daniel Kelley and wife Michellelei of Amarillo; his four grandchildren, Justin Holmes and wife Raegan; Sybil Holmes; Kaci Garcia and husband Gino; Timothy Rea; his two great-grandchildren, Merle Holmes; Gino Garcia III; his fur babies, Lily and Yoyo; his sister, Victoria Faith McIntyre of Austin; and his mother-in-law Carole Green. Survivors also include a host of other family members and dear friends.
