Born: 1/19/1929 in Kaffir, Swisher County, Texas, Kaffir is located South of Happy, Texas.  Kaffir was a rural community and loading station on the Santa Fe Railroad between Tulia and Happy.  The only thing left is a grain elevator and an old coal house from the steam train era.
