Vanna Thurlow, 83, of  Amarillo died Friday, June 4, 2004. No services are scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are by Rector Funeral Home, 2800 South Osage St.  Ms. Thurlow was born Vanna Belle White in Hartley County on Jan. 8, 1921 to Van and Lena White.  She was the second child of seven girls and one boy.  She was married to Ralph Garrison "Jack" Thurlow and they lived in Amarillo most of their lives.  She attended school at Ware and graduated from Dalhart High School.  She later attended Texas A&M at College Station.  She taught cosmetology at Hereford High School before joining the staff of Amarillo High School, where she worked until her retirement.  She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, Shannon Kaye Shelton; and three sisters, Loyce Keyser, Fern Cadwalader, and Pat Pyeatt.  Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Lowry of Amarillo; a son, Gary Thurlow of Mesa, Ariz.; five grandchildren, Tammy Bell, Robert Lowry and, wife, Jana, and Michael Cochran, all of Amarillo and Holly Priddy and Brit Thurlow, both of Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren, Toby Bell, Tyler Bell and wife, Sandra, Taylor Bell, Jay Morris and wife, Amy, Lisa Shelton and Madison Kaye Lowry, all of Amarillo; two great-great-grandchildren, Journey Bell and Dylan Morris; four sisters, Pauline Mills of Dalhart and Louise Brashear, Billie Young, and Dot Brown, all of Amarillo; and a brother, Harve White of Hobbs, N.M. 

Visitation will be at 3315 Kingston Road.
